Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear Medicine Department offers a comprehensive array of services ranging from Radioactive Iodine Therapy (RAI) and Radioimmunoassay (RIA) to Nuclear Imaging. Your safety is guaranteed in every procedure as we only use safe, painless, and cost-effective radioactive techniques to study your body and treat its diseases.

Every procedure we do requires radioactive isotopes, otherwise known as radioisotopes to assess your bodily functions and to diagnose possible diseases more accurately. These radioisotopes are transmitted to your body through three modes: intravenous (IV) injection, inhalation, oral ingestion, or direct injection into your organ. The mode to be administered depends on your disease process to be studied. Once these radioisotopes travel through your body, they give off energy in the form of gamma rays which are then detected by our gamma camera.

Our Department uses DDD Quantum Cam (Gamma Camera) , one of our advanced diagnostic equipment, thereby surpassing the limitations of regular radiologic imaging of other hospitals in the region.

If you have questions about our procedures, please contact us on (043) 778 4811 loc 8824 or visit us on the Ground Floor of the Main Hospital Building.
