What are Catheterization Laboratory Services?
Catheterization Laboratory Services, commonly known as “Cath Lab” is a specialized medical facility dedicated to diagnosing and treating heart and vascular conditions using minimally invasive techniques. St. Frances Cabrini Medical Center’s Cath Lab is equipped with advanced imaging equipment and catheter-based tools, allowing physicians to visualize and access the heart and blood vessels with precision.
Catheterization Laboratory Services are utilized for various diagnostic and therapeutic purposes related to cardiovascular health.
- Diagnosis of coronary artery disease
- Assessment of heart valve function
- Evaluation of heart chamber pressures
- Identification of congenital heart defects
- Treatment of blocked arteries and other vascular conditions
- Therapeutic Intervention in Acute Coronary Syndrome via Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA) or Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI)
Interventional Cardiology
Interventional cardiology involves minimally invasive procedures to diagnose and treat cardiovascular diseases. Interventional cardiology services offered in the Cath Lab include:

- Carotid Artery Branches Angiogram, Embolization & Stenting
- Inferior Vena Cava Filter Placement
- Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) – Angioplasty

- Left and Right Heart Catheterizations;
