The Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) team of St. Frances Cabrini Medical Center successfully completed its first ever 4-Vessel Cerebral Angiogram, March 20.
The diagnostic procedure lasted for approximately two hours and was headed by Dr. Cindy Pearl J. Sotalbo, Interventional Radiologist.
Dr. Sotalbo was assisted by staff nurses: Alliana Marie Alcalde, Junelle Limpiado, Nancy Grace Selga; and radiologic technologists: Loverne Estalilla and Jule Tiangao.
A 4-Vessel Cerebral Angiogram is done in order to visualize the veins or the four arteries leading to the brain, determining possible complications and possibly indicate immediate interventions.
Cath Lab is the hospital’s newly established department that offers a wide variety of services including coronary angiogram and angioplasty, permanent pacemaker implantation, temporary pacemaker insertion, replacement of pacemaker pulse generator, transarterial chemoembolization, internal jugular catheter insertion, inferior vena cava filter placement, embolization, and pericardiocentesis.
