SFCMC Conducts Its First Peripheral Angiogram and Angioplasty

On January 29, 2025, St. Frances Cabrini Medical Center (SFCMC) successfully conducted its first Peripheral Angiogram and Angioplasty, reinforcing its dedication to expanding specialized vascular treatments for patients.

A Peripheral Angiogram is a minimally invasive imaging procedure used to evaluate blood flow in the arteries of the legs, arms, and other areas outside the heart. It helps detect Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) and other vascular blockages. Peripheral Angioplasty, on the other hand, is a treatment method that opens narrowed or blocked arteries, improving circulation and preventing complications such as severe limb pain or amputation.

This breakthrough procedure was performed at SFCMC’s Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab), which is now equipped to handle specialized vascular diagnostics and treatments. By offering these services, SFCMC ensures that patients no longer need to travel far for high-quality vascular care.

Individuals experiencing leg pain while walking, slow-healing wounds, persistent numbness, or cold and discolored limbs are encouraged to consult with specialists at SFCMC. Early detection and timely intervention through Angioplasty can greatly improve a patient’s quality of life and prevent severe complications.

For consultations and further inquiries, patients may contact the Cath Lab at 0905-523-1848 or call (043) 778-4811 local 8834.
