Breaking the Barriers of Mediocrity – St. Cabrini Medical Center wins its 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 – 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞.

Our Medical Director, Dr. Malen M. Gellido, and Chief Nurse, Ms. April B. Perez proudly accepted the prestigious DOH Star Award on behalf of SFCMC at the 𝐈𝐥𝐨𝐢𝐥𝐨 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 on 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟑, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑. This marks the 2nd time that St. Cabrini has been honored with this esteemed recognition, a testament to the hospital’s unwavering commitment to healthcare excellence.

The DOH Star Awards, with the theme “Breaking the Barriers of Mediocrity – In Pursuits of Healthcare Innovation towards a Healthy Pilipinas,” aims to celebrate and acknowledge outstanding hospital practices and innovations that go above and beyond the minimum requirements, setting new standards in the delivery of healthcare services.

The journey towards this 2nd triumph began last month on October 3, 2023, when the Department of Health (Philippines) – Health Facility and Services Regulatory Bureau (DOH-HFSRB) conducted a thorough validation of SFCMC’s 2023 entry documents. The evaluation process, a meticulous examination of the hospital’s practices, encompassed various criteria such as safety and infection control, service provision, customer and employee satisfaction, community-based activities, and quality improvement.

The recognition from the DOH serves not only as a validation of SFCMC’s continuous commitment to high standards but also as motivation to further innovate and elevate healthcare practices. The hospital’s leadership, along with its dedicated staff, remains steadfast in its mission to break through the barriers of mediocrity and contribute to the realization of a healthier Philippines.
